Held on the penultimate day of the archery events, the competition saw intense battles between India's top archers, further solidifying the nation's growing dominance in the sport.

Deepika Kumari: The Reigning Queen of Indian Archery

Jharkhand's Deepika Kumari, a decorated archer and quarterfinalist in the Paris Olympics, once again proved her mettle by securing two gold medals—one in the individual recurve event and another in the team event. Her experience and composure under pressure helped her edge out Bihar’s Anshika 6-4 in a gripping final showdown.

While Deepika shone individually, her women's team, comprising Komalika Boro, Ankita Bhakat, and Tamanna Verma, faced a tough challenge in the final. Despite their best efforts, they were outclassed by Maharashtra in a one-sided 0-6 defeat. However, Jharkhand’s overall performance in the competition remained commendable.

Juyel Sarkar: The Young Star from West Bengal

West Bengal’s 18-year-old Juyel Sarkar emerged as the surprise champion in the men’s recurve event. Training at the Jhargram Archery Academy, the young archer displayed incredible skill and mental strength to defeat four-time Olympian Tarundeep Rai in the semifinals with a 6-2 victory.

Juyel's final clash against Indra Chand Indra of Services was an intense battle, where he secured a 6-4 win to claim the gold. His remarkable performance not only marked his arrival on the national stage but also hinted at a bright future for Indian archery.

Tarundeep Rai Secures Bronze in a Competitive Field
